If you need them, you're looking at buyi ng from a different manufacturer. Please note that this monitor does not have internal speakers. I don't know why it solved the issue, but it did.

After losing my screen resolution and the ability to change it, I restored my system to the old driver and I haven't had the shutting down problem since. I accidentally solved the problem by installing an updated driver from Samsung (which didn't help), and then automatically downloading a new driver from Microsoft. If you're using XP, many of these monitors will develop an intermittent and repeated problem with suddenly turning off and then restarting. One small problem developed in mine (and several others, as I found out later). You can get better, but it will cost you. Hopefully, this clears it up for you all.Nice monitor for the price, but has XP driver issues. Obviously, the gaming LCD runs at 75hz (VX922). This is the main reason why I run dual LCD one for graphics, internet usage, etc., and one strictly for gaming. If you really want no mouse lag with an LCD, get an LCD that does 75hz, else, you'll be sorry. Now you know partially the reason why those with CRTs will pwn you with the headshot 75 to 85% of the time, is because with CRTs there is virtually no mouse lag due to the high refresh rate. Switch to 75hz, and it will be much, much better to handle. 60hz will introduce a profound mouse lag that will throw off your aim completely. One of the worst enemies any FPSer will encounter. You know what the reason for that is, and I'm speaking out of experience.? I can definitely see why someone would want to set their LCD to 75hz rather than 60hz. Now, here's what I didn't see mentioned at all. LCDs display differently than CRTs they project a "static" image, whereas CRTs have to constantly refresh via the electron gun. You will not see flickering of any sort, or any type of improvement thereof by increasing the refresh rate. Some of you guys are right in saying that there is no PERCEPTUAL difference in between 60hz and 75hz when it comes to LCDs. Bunch of mud slinging and half truths in here. I can turn off vsync in a game and it looks like total crap, all choppy and some parts of the screen updated before other parts. Like said before, we think this is a vsync issue, not a refresh rate issue. if you force a 60hz LCD to refresh at 75hz i think alot of the improvements you 'see' is only going to be in your head. getting over 60hz was really big for CRT because they would flicker in time with house lights, amplifying the effect, causing headaches, and going up to 70+ would fix that. If you really think 60hz and 75hz on an LCD is a huge difference, then i suspect part whining and part imagination. if its "too freaking choppy" that sounds like your monitor and vid card are operating at different refresh rates, causing screen tearing. If you can detect that on an LCD, be wary of secret gov't agents in black overcoats coming to claim your eyes for scientific research.Ĭheck vsync. What don't you guys understand about the fact that no matter what you do 75hz isn't being properly displayed? in fact, after doing a little googling I found multiple sources saying that forcing lcds over their intended refresh rate greatly reduces their lifespan.
